Art in the Ballpark
JRAC and the Joplin Blasters have partnered to bring baseball and art together with an unique opportunity for JRAC Members. During the opening weekend of the Blasters season artists will be allowed into the ball park to plein air paint (draw, photograph, and create). Works created during this weekend will then hang in the sky suites and different parts of the stadium and be rotated throughout the stadium during the season. At the end of the season "Art In the Ballpark" will be held to sell off the works. Artist will receive100% of the sale price or their work back!
Artists will need to bring their own supplies, chair, etc. to move around the park. Artists have been asked to be considerate of those who have paid to see the baseball game by not sitting in seats, obstructing views, etc. Artists can come to any or all of the following games to work: Thursday May 21 at 6:35pm, Friday May 22 at 6:35pm, Saturday May 23 at 6:35pm or Sunday May 24 at 2:05pm. Awards will be presented September 26 during "Art In The Ballpark" to First, Second, and Third place along with a Fan Favorite and a Blasters Favorite.
